Ashcroft® 1279 Duragauge® pressure gauges provide dependability, safety and performance. These high performance 4.5″ ASME style Process pressure gauges are available with a variety of accessory and diaphragm seal assemblies to satisfy most application and installation requirements.

Duragauge Pressure Gauges are used to monitor pressure in compressors, turbines, cryogenics, water jets and more. Acrylic, shatter proof glass, and (optional) non-glare glass windows are excellent for clear vision and durability.

Duragauge gauges feature a Solid Front Case and a 10-year pressure system warranty. Mounting options include stem, surface, flush (standard), pipe, and remote (optional).

Additional options include:

  • Custom dial printing
  • Micrometer adjustable pointer
  • Optional high process temperature dissipation siphons for high temperature applications

These Ashcroft pressure gauges are available to meet various Weather Protection requirements. The Dry case is not sealed, so it is only recommended for weather protected environments. However, IP66 rated liquid filled or field fillable cases are offered as options.

How does Ashcroft Duragauge help with excessive Pulsation/Vibration?

In processing equipment, surges in process pressure can lead to pulsation in gauges. These pulsations can cause poor gauge readability due to pointer flutter and decreased gauge integrity due to component damage.

Vibration can also lead to pointer flutter and component damage in gauges. They can be classified into two categories: high-frequency/low-amplitude and low-frequency/high-amplitude. The former causes pointer flutter and centralized gauge movement gear teeth damage on the segment, while the latter causes widespread gear teeth damage across the segment and increased stress on the bourdon tube.

As a rule of thumb, if pulsations or vibrations trigger pointer movement of 5% or more of the full-scale range, you should take steps to reduce their generation or their effect on the instrument.

Ashcroft pressure gauges can help solve instrument problems stemming from excessive pulsation and vibration by dampening the movement/tube. Filling the case with silicone, glycerin or halocarbon that includes an integrated throttle screw dampens the effect of pulsations/vibrations on the gauge. A dry gauge with a dampened movement, like the Ashcroft Duragauge with PLUS!™ performance works like a liquid-filled gauge, dampening the effects of pulsation and vibration.

Ashcroft® 1279 Duragauge® pressure gauge provides dependability, safety and performance, satisfying most applications and installation requirements.
