Features and Benefits of using Ashcroft Gauges, Switches & Indicators

The Ashcroft product offering gives you many solutions that best fit your application needs.

Ashcroft Commercial/Utility Pressure Gauges

Commercial pressure gauges are ideal for general purpose or OEM applications where the media does not corrode brass and the conditions are not expected to be harsh. Ashcroft has a patented feature called PowerFlex™ movement. In high vibration applications, there are fewer parts to wear out, and with 40% less mass, the movement can respond immediately to pressure fluctuations.

Ashcroft Industrial Pressure Gauges

Industrial pressure gauges are mechanical instruments designed to measure the internal pressure and / or vacuum of a vessel or system. Ashcroft Pressure Indicators are classified as gauges because they are mechanical devices that sense pressure and record or convert it physically into a reading on a scale.  Ashcroft industrial pressure gauges are available in a wide variety in sizes from less than 1"" to 12"" and with pressure ranges up to 100,000 psi. Pressure gauges with the patented award-winning PLUS! Option provide the same performance as a liquid-filled gauge in a dry gauge.

Ashcroft Pressure Transducer and Transmitters

Pressure transducers and transmitters are the ideal solution for monitoring, measuring, sensing and control situations. Gage, sealed, absolute, compound and differential are the five types of Ashcroft transducers and transmitters. Their measurement technologies are capable of measuring ranges from 0.05 inches H2O to 150,000 psi with accuracies of 0.02%, .025%, 0.50% and 1%. Low pressure transmitters work well with static or velocity pressure.

Ashcroft Pressure Switches & Temperature Switches

Ashcroft pressure switches and temperature switches are used in applications for control, alarm and shutdown when temperature or pressure limits are met. Ashcroft temperature switches can handle set points from Inches of Water up to 3,000 psi. Features of Ashcroft switches utilize remote or direct mount bulbs and are constructed from stainless steel materials. Temperature set points range from -40 to 750 degrees F.

Ashcroft Thermometers

Ashcroft industrial temperature gauges, better known as industrial thermometers, sense the thermal state of a substance. These instruments are available in three types: bimetal thermometer, gas-actuated Duratemp® thermometers and digital thermometers. Bimetal thermometers measure temperature ranges from -80 to 1000 degrees F. The gas-actuated Duratemp® series measures temperatures from -320 to 1200 degrees F. Each Ashcroft digital thermometer is panel mounted, shock and vibration resistant and ultrasonically sealed in a watertight case. All Ashcroft temperature indicator dials provide easy-to-read temperature measurement.  Also available is a variety of thermowells designed to work with Ashcroft industrial temperature instruments.

Are Ashcroft Gauges Good?

Ashcroft gauges earn consistently high reviews for reliability and high quality. Because Ashcroft pressure gauges are available in such a wide variety of sizes, accuracies and pressure ranges, there is an Ashcroft pressure gauge available to fit nearly any budget and application requirement, including differential pressure gauges, test gauges, sanitary gauges, high-purity gauges, subsea gauges, digital pressure gauges, OEM pressure gauges and more.

How do I adjust my Ashcroft Pressure Switch?

The adjustment procedure for an Ashcroft pressure switch varies depending on the model. Therefore, it is always advised to check the relevant Ashcroft pressure gauge manual or Ashcroft adjustment video to follow the correct procedures. In most cases, the setpoint can be calibrated with a setpoint adjustment nut. The switch should be mounted on a calibration stand, and a reference standard such as an Ashcroft Duragauge is used to observe changes in pressure while increasing or decreasing the pressure.

How do you use an Ashcroft Pressure Gauge?

Ashcroft pressure gauges are known for their high quality and ease of use. Since a pressure gauge is a mechanical instrument used to measure and monitor the pressure of air, gases or fluids, using an Ashcroft pressure gauge simply means reading the measured pressure. Various gauge sizes and styles are available to ensure that the gauge can be read at the required distance. Ashcroft pressure gauge devices operate using the system’s process, so they give a reading even when there is no power source.

For more detailed instructions for verifying, calibrating, and reading Ashcroft pressure gauges, as well as programming digital pressure gauges, refer to the appropriate Ashcroft pressure gauge manual for your model. Contact Carotek for assistance locating the proper Ashcroft vacuum gauge manual or Ashcroft digital pressure gauge manual.

How do I Calibrate my Ashcroft Pressure Gauge?

Ashcroft pressure gauge calibration procedures vary depending on the pressure gauge model. With an Ashcroft digital pressure gauge, original factory calibration is permanently retained in memory and can be recalled at any time. Dial/analog pressure gauge calibration should also be verified at regular intervals based on procedures outlined in the relevant Ashcroft pressure gauge manual. The manual for your instrument will outline the Ashcroft gauge calibration procedure to adjust the instrument if it is outside tolerance.

In some instances, it may not be cost effective or even possible to recalibrate a pressure gauge. Low-cost gauges are typically not meant to be recalibrated, because they would cost more to be calibrated than simply buying a new gauge. And in other cases, gauges have a non-removable front ring, which makes recalibration impossible.

As a factory authorized Ashcroft distributor, Carotek is authorized to assemble, fill and calibrate Ashcroft instruments with diaphragm seals.

How do you Calibrate a Pressure Gauge?

Some pressure gauges have to be connected to calibration devices. The device applies maximum pressure to the pressure gauge then the pressure is bled completely and the pointer returns to zero. This process calibrates the pressure gauge.
