Full Details on our essential business status are below.
Carotek, Inc. is a manufacturing and distribution business providing process equipment for essential businesses in the chemical, food and beverage, water and waste water businesses located in Matthews, NC, Chesterfield, VA, Knoxville, TN and Marietta, GA. Carotek’s manufacturing, distribution and service personnel provide critical and comprehensive equipment, services, and support to customers in many critical Sectors and essential businesses, as detailed below.
Carotek’s vital role in manufacturing, distributing, and servicing critical process measurement, Process equipment, analysis and control equipment, and providing specialized technical support qualifies as an “Essential Critical Infrastructure” business under the guidance issued by the CISA Division of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 19, 2020 (“CISA Guidelines”) and an “Essential Business” pursuant to the guidelines issued by The Department of Public Health and Safety(“NC-SC-VA-GA Guidelines”), because the products and services it provides are for customers in various critical industries supporting human health and safety, such as Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Life Sciences & Biotech Research. It also supplies and services necessary measurement and instrumentation equipment for the manufacturing process in the Health Care Sector, Water/Wastewater Sector, Food and Agriculture Sector (including the beverage industry), Energy Sector, Transportation Systems Sector, and Chemical Sectors, Coating Manufacturing, Paper Mills, and Oil & Gas industry.
Carotek’s operations in supplying and servicing the instrumentation and measuring products constitutes an Essential Critical Infrastructure Activity pursuant to the CISA’s Memorandum on Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers During Covid-19 Response (“CISA Essential Workers Guidelines”), which provides that workers in the various Sectors identified above are considered Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce. Additionally, instrumentation, protection, and control technicians are designated as Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce. The services that employees of Carotek perform for their customers in the critical Sectors, such as producing and shipping control and isolation valves, measurement instruments, analyzers, sensors, and spare parts, and providing calibration, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting services clearly consists of this type of work.
Based on the above and in accordance with the North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia CISA Guidelines, and CISA Essential Workers Guidelines, Carotek will remain operational and its critical and essential employees are exempt from any travel restrictions for the purposes of their employment with Carotek. Our facility will continue with a reduced staff limited to the essential employees necessary for safe operations.
We consider the health of our employees as the MOST important concern and have instituted strict pandemic response measures to protect and safeguard our employees while still continuing to serve our vital customers in essential industries. We have required our employees to adhere to the CDC guidelines for social distancing, personal hygiene, area sanitization, and travel. We have asked all employees to stay home if they are not feeling well and have migrated nonessential personnel to the continued safe operations into a remote work environment with every remote employee having the latest technology to facilitate online meetings, training, customer support, and business processing.
Thank you for your support during this uncertain time.
