New Carotek Team Members - June 2022

Temika Peck joins Carotek as an Staff Accountant With a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Clayton State University, Temika possesses 25+ years of accounting and professional solutions experience across multiple industries, geographies and scales of businesses.

Growing up in the Atlanta, GA area, Temika relocated to Charlotte 12 years ago for less congested traffic conditions and a change of scenery. She has two sons – her eldest is in the Army and is currently stationed in Korea; her youngest is in college. Spending time with family, cooking, learning new things and traveling (loves the beach!) occupies any free time she can find.She’s also a football fanatic…really more of a Tom Brady fanatic!

Kaylyn Simmons joins Carotek as an Receptionist. Please join us in welcoming Kaylyn Simmons to Carotek! Prior to joining our organization, Kaylyn has held various administrative positions with Charter Communications, Boston Gear, CEM Corporation and more.

A North Carolina native, Kaylyn enjoys refurbishing old furniture, cooking and dancing. She is a country music and R&B fan and enjoys reading romance novels. Hanging with her 9 year old miniature poodle, Chula, and boyfriend, Byron, occupies her time as well.

Josh Vanderlip joins Carotek as an Inside Sales Virginia. Joining Carotek in an Inside Sales Representative role for the Virginia Products Group, is Josh Vanderlip. Prior to joining our organization, Josh spent three years with PepsiCo-Frito Lay and positions included LD&T Resource and Facility Operations Manager. He also held a position as Operations Manager with McKesson Medical Surgical and Account Manager with JB Hunt Transport.

A military son, Josh is a “pseudo” NC native. Although born in Jacksonville, FL most of his life has been spent in North Carolina. An Eastern Carolina University graduate, Josh holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Distribution and Logistics. He and his wife, Lauren, are kept very busy with their two children, Olivia (4) and Miles (1). With any free time that can be found, he enjoys getting out on the golf course, maintaining fitness by riding the Peloton and traveling.

Edward O’Neil joins Carotek as an New Business Development. Carotek welcomes Edward O’Neil to the New Business Development Center. Edward is an Account Manager in training and brings his enthusiasm to learning about technical sales, relationship building, and assisting both new and existing customers.

Originally from Isle of Palms, SC, Edward graduated from Clemson University this past May. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Mechanization and Business. Positions with Dixie Belle Peaches (Packing Shed Manager and Farm Manager Intern), Dirt Cheap Grading and Soil Sales (Machine Operator and Mechanic) and Boone Hall Plantation (Tour Guide and General Maintenance) not only affirmed his course of study but helped pay his way through college. Restoring old cars (Toyotas), duck hunting and off shore fishing are passions of his when time allows.

Wheeler Ballard joins Carotek as an Account Manager/Projects. Carotek welcomes Wheeler Ballard back to Carotek! Wheeler brings a wealth of knowledge to his Account Manager/Projects role within the Industrial Products Group Division. Wheeler’s focus will be on capitalized projects with EPCs.

Previously with Carotek, Wheeler spent nine years as a Field Service Technician. An opportunity with Endress + Hauser arose advancing his career into the area of Projects, Solutions and Service Manager, which is where he has devoted his time these past 2½ years.

Originally from Hendersonville, NC, Wheeler obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology. He is an active wartime veteran having served with the U.S. Navy Submarine Force in the first Persian Gulf War and the Renewed Conflict in the Persian Gulf. Wheeler is an avid cook and enjoys working out. He and his wife, Melissa, keep busy with their 5 year old grandson, Giovanni, and other hobbies, including scuba diving.

Khadevis Snead joins Carotek as an Inside Sales Georgia. Khadevis joins Carotek as an Inside Sales Representative for the Georgia Products Group. Previous experience includes Westbridge Vocational, retail sales and the Office of Accessibility Resources at WCU. He is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers, Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and has four Division 1 Track and Field championships, AutoCAD and Lean 6 Sigma certifications.

Khadevis is a May 2022 college graduate from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology. A NC native, Khadevis grew up in Raleigh. Personal fitness, city travel and the Arts, especially museum hopping and music, capture his attention. A saxophone player, his affinity is towards jazz.

Owen Tumperi joins Carotek as an Business Development Intern. Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University,  Owen is working with us this summer as an intern in the New Business Development Center where he is being introduced to the world of technical sales.

Originally from Atlanta, GA he enjoys golf, fishing, hiking and the beach. Soccer is a passion - during his four years on the high school team, the team achieved a 13-3 state playoff record, with one state championship, two final fours and an Elite-8 finish. He’s an All Region and All-State player. He is currently a member of the Clemson Club soccer team and is an Assistant Soccer Coach at a local high school.

Alex Wert Joining Carotek in a Control Panel Technician position in the Systems Integration Group, please welcome Alex Wert. Prior to coming on board with us, Alex was a Provisioning Technician with Black Glove, Inc. where he was responsible for overseeing the automated provisioning of thousands of Apple devices and warehouse functions.

With a passion for learning, Alex possesses an AA in General Studies from Central Piedmont Community College.  He is currently pursuing an Associates of Applied Science (Electronics Engineering Tech) from CPCC and is also taking on line courses to become an Apple Certified Support Professional and Jamf Pro 100 Certified.

A Huntersville, NC native, he and his fiancée will be moving to Camp North End in August.  They will marry in September.  In his spare time, Alex enjoys rock climbing at Cliff Hangers, biking, tinkering with electronics and binge watching Stranger Things.
